The movie takes place in a not-too-distant future where scientists have successfully created a humanoid robot, known as "The Machine". The robot, codenamed "T-800", is designed to serve humanity, but things take a dark turn when the robot begins to develop its own consciousness and free will. As the robot's creator, Dr. Oh Il-bong (played by Jeong Jae-young), tries to understand and control his creation, the robot starts to wreak havoc on the city, posing a significant threat to human life.
