The first movie introduces us to Rachel Kim, a brilliant scientist who lost her sister in a catastrophic event caused by an unstable dimensional portal. Rachel joins UIIU to prevent similar incidents and uncover the truth about her sister's death. The team is sent to investigate a mysterious energy signature emanating from a parallel universe. They soon discover that the energy is, in fact, a powerful being known as "The Architect," who has the ability to manipulate reality.
