Do not watch Jan Dara 2 cold. Read a plot summary of the first film at minimum. Without knowing why Jan hates his father (the scene with the fishing rod), half of the sequel's motivation makes no sense.

For Indonesian fans, this means that in the near future, you may finally get a legal, uncut, high-definition way to without hunting through broken links.
Watch Jan Dara 2 if you want closure after the first movie and appreciate Thai period drama with adult themes. But don’t expect a masterpiece – it’s style over substance. Best enjoyed with an open mind (and maybe fast-forward through the filler).
If you watch this film for simple titillation, you will be bored by the slow-burn plot. If you watch it for the tragedy, you will leave devastated.
